JESUS' AHA! MOMENT

Here are some interior monologues by Jesus just at the moment when he came up out of the Jordan after being baptized by John. He sees the dove and hears the voice from heaven saying, "This is my beloved son. Listen to him" These latter words are a citation from Is 42:1, and Jesus recognizes them as being about the mysterious "Suffering Servant" who will suffer for his people. The assignment is to write about Jesus's reaction, his "Aha! moment."

The Enlightenment of Jesus

Ahha! So this is what my father wants me to do!... But couldn't their have been another way to save these

people?... I have to suffer! I feel honored to be the one who was picked... or do I? Why was I picked? Am

I good enough? I'm just a regular carpenter from Nazareth... Wait!... All of those scriptures... They were

talking about me!... A savior... That's awesome! So this means I have to be ready... If he believes in me... I

know I can believe in myself. I will make my father proud... and save these people! I will be the long waited

for Messiah! I care about them... and I... hope... my life will not be in vain...
